At the end of November, our office set off for Vorarlberg for two days. Between Schlins, St. Gerold, Mellau, Lustenau and Bregenz, we visited places where the central themes of our work come together: responsible use of existing buildings, resource-saving materials and the principles of simple construction.

Last year, Michael Ziller was invited to serve as an expert judge for the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg's ideas competition ‘Innovative Floor Plans for Subsidised Housing’. A documentation of the competition has now been published, making an important contribution to further thinking on affordable housing.

(re)visited: Urban timber construction in Schwabing

Over 10 years ago, we completed a timber building in an urban location in Munich Schwabing. We developed a building made of prefabricated timber elements for the challenge of inner-city redensification and erected it in just eight months.

Green light for the construction of 600 flats in Freimann

The development plan for the area east of Freisinger Landstrasse in Schwabing-Freimann has been approved by the city council. This clears the way for the construction of around 600 flats, including 30 to 40 per cent of subsidised housing and two day care centres next to the Garchinger Mühlbach.

The second phase is in full swing. The prefabricated elements in timber construction allow the time-efficient construction of two additional storeys providing 48 flats in Munich's Westend district.

We create living space! The yellow block in the Westend is being extended by two storeys using a prefabricated/lightweight timber construction method. Work has now actively begun. We are delighted to be able to make another contribution to quality living - for local residents, lovers of the neighbourhood and the urban space.

We are part of it! Competitions form the basis of creative innovations and special solutions, but not every idea can win. The City of Hamburg has been bundling all competitions since 2017 and dedicating an exhibition to them on around 6,000 posters.
