The Callwey Award “Residential Buildings of the Year 2026” recognises the best completed housing projects and concepts across various categories. The award seeks out the best housing projects of 2026, which are assessed on the basis of aesthetic and contemporary design aspects, the degree of innovation, and their adaptation to residents’ needs. Integration into the surrounding environment and sustainability also play a decisive role.

As last year’s winner, Michael Ziller was part of the jury, which also included, amongst others, DBZ deputy editor-in-chief Benedikt Kraft.

The winners will be announced on 22 October 2026 during the Best of Architecture Summit at the Macherei in Munich. So stay tuned!
