Communal Living: Panel discussion with Michael Ziller
May 26, 2026

How can housing be made more social, sustainable and affordable?
Rising housing costs, increasing land consumption and growing loneliness in society present our cities with major challenges. Could communal living be part of the solution?
On 2 June, the Department for Urban Development and Housing (BSW) invites all interested parties to a panel discussion featuring the following experts:
- Nils Scheffler (Urban Expert Berlin)
- Julia Erdmann (Socialtecture)
- Katrin Brandt (Stattbau Hamburg)
- Christian Marx (BSW)
- Daniel Kleinehagenbrock (AMIGO Building Cooperative)
- and Michael Ziller (zillerplus Architects and Urban Planners)
The discussion will be moderated by Jasmin Sohnemann.
We look forward to an exciting evening and a lively discussion in the “KreaTiefgeschoss” of the HalbInsulaner building community in HafenCity.
An event as part of the Hamburg Architecture Summer 2026.
