“COMMUNITY-ORIENTED AND SUSTAINABLE” – In the latest issue of polisMAGAZIN 03/2026, which focuses on the theme of “INFLUENCE”, the Heimatmole in Hamburg’s HafenCity is featured in the Urban News section on page 56.

“In the Baakenhafen district of Hamburg’s HafenCity, 3,200 homes and 13,000 jobs are currently being created. Right at the heart of it all is the new residential, working and leisure hub ‘Heimatmole’, with a gross floor area of 2,500 m². The owners and developers are 16 families, who organised an invited competition in 2017 to design the co-housing project. zillerplus Architects and Urban Planners won the competition with their concept for a high-quality lifestyle. It combines urban density with living in green surroundings and spaces to strengthen the community with the individual needs of the families. These combinations are evident in communal areas such as the roof terrace, community club, living rooms and kitchens, as well as the flexible use of ‘switch rooms’, which are to be allocated by the homeowners’ association every three years in line with current needs. For this, the KfW-55 efficiency house was awarded the HafenCity Platinum Environmental Label.”
