Testing out more sustainability

Construction is responsible for around 40 per cent of all greenhouse gas emissions. That is why, before every construction project, questions arise such as: Do we really have to tear everything down and build anew? Or would it not be better to examine the existing building, renovate it and adapt it to our changing needs? Every building requires such analyses and decisions, which have a direct impact on the environment.

Timber in the urban context

Current developments in the sustainable use of resources and the recyclability of building materials offer the opportunity to process flat components such as ceilings and walls into wooden building materials, e.g. cross-laminated timber and composite constructions.
