Over 10 years ago, we completed an urban timber building in Munich Schwabing. We developed a prefabricated timber building for the challenge of inner-city redensification and erected it in just eight months.
The new building with 10 residential units is a classic redensification in a Munich courtyard situation, which is accessed via the passageway at Rheinstraße 14. The timber construction is the first inner-city passive timber house in Germany.
The existing garage courtyard was demolished and a new underground car park was built for the cars, which forms the basis for the new building. The outdoor areas and roof terraces enliven the courtyard with their views and give the quiet flats in the courtyard a special quality. In addition, communal recreational areas with raised beds, children's play areas and bicycle parking spaces have also been created in the courtyard.
